The Nelson Girl’s orange and pistachio chocolate work won the Wellington Chocolate Factory competition.
Sophia Evans (Sophia Evans) is one of five finalists. On Thursday night, the 11-year-old was crowned as the champion of the Wellington Chocolate Factory “Chocolate Dream Competition”.
Her work called Orange Mustachio (a milk chocolate made with oranges and pistachios) will be made into a limited edition and will be on shelves before Christmas.

Sophia said that her creative inspiration came from orange chocolate chip ice cream and pistachio ice cream made on Watch Food Network.
She is looking forward to packing the first Orange Mustachio bar and visiting the Weta Workshop during her trip to Wellington in October.
The chief judge and founder of the Wellington Chocolate Factory, Gabe Davidson, said that Orange Mustachio is unforgettable.
He said: “There is a good balance between the saltiness of the pistachios and the freeze-dried orange juice contained in the chocolate,”
“It gives you a good balance of sweetness-the orange flavor is strong, the texture is amazing, and the pistachios gives a lovely crispness.”
In the past two weeks, more than 3,000 votes have won the box office of people’s favorite works, and the votes of the five finalists all fell within 130 votes.
As part of her victory, Sophia and her family will travel to Wellington. Her chocolate creations will be available for purchase online and at the Eva St factory.
